VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Heer officer M43 cap with metal national emblem, field grey wool body, ribbed cotton interior marked size 58 (but seems more like a 56), covered surface to under visor, silver piping to the crown, original woven trapazoid insignia is straight stitch machine sewn, at one time cap had metal national emblem applied to the front of the cap with prongs penetrating the insignia and cap body, consignor reapplied an aluminum Heer national emblem using the same holes as a guide, cap has been folded flat and is worn and soiled internally, externally there is only light wear with the exception of a small damaged area under the lower front pebbled button, this type of embellishment is often seen in period photographs, USD $1000 SOLD
