VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Early Luftwaffe Field Division Splittertarn pattern ground combat smock in Grünmeliert fabric with GM backed camo national emblem, constructed in GM fabric overprinted with Luftwaffe splinter pattern in strong greens and brown colors, internal pocket bags are of tan ribbed cotton fabric, stamped with contract and size markings in black ink, the front closure is secured with large blue glass buttons and smaller versions of these buttons are used for the hip pocket flaps, the internal pocket, to anchor slip on shoulder straps and to secure the under the collar neck tab (the lower left pocket is missing its button but a similar button is included), each cuff is secured with a two position snap and eye marked PRYM 6, there are five belt hook support holes at each side waist position, the smock is set up for slip on shoulder straps and includes a matching pair of rare splinter camo pattern Luftwaffe Field Division shoulder straps in non GM material, the splinter pattern camo GM fabric backed national emblem is factory zig zag machine sewn, smock has been service worn but without damage with the exception of a tear 2cm in length at the left lower pocket, in addition there are a few small scattered stains of white paint, the finish of the cuff snaps has browned, super appearance and a seldom encountered variant, please inquire to info@virtualgrenadier.com for additional detailed photographs, USD $8,500 SOLD
