Black Panzer wrap for a Waffen-SS Untersturmführer, of typical later quality wool, standard issue Waffen-SS cut Panzer wrap has been sympathetically restored using bullion SS runic tab embroidered on wool and wool rank tab with three zinc pips, tabs are machine applied to the collar, tabs and collar are piped in twisted silver wire, rank pip prongs do not penetrate the collar, tabs are placed in the regulation location and are a good match to the wrap's condition, the collar undersurfaces are clean and there are no traces of previous insignia, a bullion sleeve eagle is hand sewn to the left sleeve, a pair of reproduction slip on officer shoulder boards are included, the shoulder strap bridles have been shortened to better fit narrow officer shoulder board tongues, narrow diameter silver pebbled shoulder strap buttons, EKII ribbon applied to lapel buttonhole, loops for one breast badge, wrap is lined in two different types of black rayon, black waist tightening tapes in HBT fabric (missing on one side), belt hook support straps are made of black rayon, front panel closure tabs are of black wool, sizes and three letter manufacturer code are stamped in white ink, wrap has four large doughnut style front closure buttons and five smaller convex buttons for lapel and for securing closure tabs, split cuffs use the smaller type black plastic buttons associated with SS garments (one of these is missing), one smaller diameter black button was added to the front closure below the bottom-most large button, a corresponding small buttonhole was added to the corresponding location on the internal closure panel, there is a black painted steel hook and eye at the throat, wrap was obviously service worn and there are a few small holes and darned repairs, especially at the rear collar, rank collar tab has some surface mothing, there is some minor staining but this is more evident from the photographs, restored but rare in any condition, please inquire to information@virtualgrenadier.com for additional photos and information, USD $19,500 SOLD
