The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Tailor made ensemble for Luftwaffe flight Oberfeldwebel in Geschwader "Immelman", pre war tailored set of blouse and trousers made of very fine quality trikot wool, blouse is lined in blue artificial silk and has one internal hanger and provision for wearing with sword or dagger, there are four pleated patch pockets and silver pebbled buttons are used throughout, collar is piped in yellow twisted cord and bright silver Luftwaffe style tresse is used, the collar patches are hand sewn to the collar and the silver rank gulls' prongs penetrate the collar, sew in style shoulder straps with yellow cord piping and two silver rank pips each, the hand applied national emblem is worked in silver grey rayon thread with highlight threads of dark grey blue, there is a specialty patch for Flying Technical Personnel on the lower left sleeve, on the lower right sleeve an embroidered Geschwader Immelman sleeveband is hand applied with black thread, there are loops for one breast badge and a ribbon bar, there is a Regensburg tailor's label as well as a label with former owner's name, rank and May '39 date, the accompanying trousers are made of the same material and have label with same name and date, there are two hip pockets and one flapped rear pocket, the trouser fronts are pleated, there are adjustable side straps and buttons at the waist for braces, there is a watch pocket and fly is closed with both buttons and hook, trouser hems are reinforced, blouse shows light service wear, there is a hole .5cm in diameter at the lower right cuff, there is another hole on the left rank tab, there are numerous scattered small insect holes at the trouser's fly, along the inner trouser seams and at the lower left leg, trousers show a bit more use and soiling than the blouse, set was veteran acquired and was used for some years as a Halloween costume, nice set to an attributed airman and unit, please inquire to info@virtualgrenadier.com for additional detailed photos, USD $1900 SOLD
