Crisp Heer EM M40 tropical cap, mid war type with internal sweatband, constructed of olive green ribbed cotton and having red cotton liner, sweatband made of a slightly contrasting color or ribbed cotton and backed with a white colored oilcloth type material, cap has two pairs of enameled grommets, stamped with maker, '42 date and size 56, with factory applied tropical pattern insignia, national colors rosette is straight stitch machine applied, national emblem appears to be machine straight stitched along top back of eagle's wing and then hand finished on the lower portions by hand, the line of construction stitching through the rosette is an interesting feature, cap is immaculate and does not appear to have been worn, per consignor cap was brought home by a veteran of U.S. 11th Armored Division, USD $1800 SOLD
