VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. Luftwaffe M38 double decal Fallschirmjäger helmet, large ET71 shell size, aluminum liner bands, with black rubber pads, one of which is missing and another loose, very nice leather liner is well stamped in black ink with size and maker (Heisler) information, complete and pliable leather chin harness with all fittings including PRYM4 marked snap, wearer's right side strap has been carefully reinforced with a matching piece of leather neatly applied with machine sewing, externally smooth grey green painted factory finish shows fairly even wear and age, there are scattered areas of thin paint, scratches and minor darkened rust, the thinnest area of paint is at the helmet's top, there is a significant age darkened ding at the position of the eagle's left wingtip, the decals themselves are approximately 80% intact, helmet's spanner bolts have about half of their original matching paint finish, fantastic example of a service used FJ helmet in a large size, USD $19,000 WITHDRAWN
