VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Document and photograph grouping including Soldbuch pertaining to Kriegsmarine Ritterkreuzträger Kapitänleutnant Wilhelm Meentzen, commander of Schnellboot T24, with Meentzen's Soldbuch with photo of him wearing German Cross in Gold and Knights Cross, the Soldbuch details the award of Iron Cross 2nd class, Iron Cross 1st class, German Cross in Gold, Destroyer War Badge, E-boat badge, War Merit Cross 2nd class with swords, Finnish Freedom Cross 4th class, Spanish Cross in bronze, Sudetenland medal, Memel medal, Afrika cufftitle, Long Service 4 years, wound badge black and Knights Cross, further included is a fantastic photo album with numerous photos of men, line officers, senior officers, Knights Cross wearers, boats in port and at sea, battle damage, travel scenes, etc., in addition there are 35 loose photos depicting similar scenes as well as several photos of Meentzen wearing RK, officers in tropical dress and so on, several of the photos have press markings, labels and penciled notations, further included is a printed combat history of the HMCS Athabaskan, a Tribal class destroyer that was attacked by Meentzen’s boat, finally included is a multi-page Detelv Neimann letter of authenticity, please inquire to info@virtualgrenadier.com for additional information, USD $3000 SOLD
