Beautiful visored cap for Heer chaplain, cap body of fine quality doeskin type wool, dark green wool cap band, violet wool colored piping, black composite visor with fine cracking, silver chin cord held with silver pebbled buttons which are attached with prongs, cream colored rayon lining, celluloid sweat shield with legend for J. Holzwarth of Karlsruhe, with full and intact leather sweatband, remains of orange colored sponge padding behind forehead section, bullion national emblem and wreath with integral gothic cross are neatly hand applied, stitching of insignia does not penetrate the lining nor is there indication of previous insignia, cap estimated to be a size 55/56, condition is in high excellent condition and the only adage noted is a single pinhead sized hole to the rear band, internal cap spring is still in place, USD $5300 SOLD
