VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Ensemble for member of Der Stahlhelm, Bund der Frontsoldaten, group consists of tunic with badges, visored cap and last type Stahlhelm belt buckle, excellent tunic is made of field grey wool and is lined in ribbed cotton, it has one internal pocket, two pleated breast pockets and two slash hip pockets, grey buttons with Der Stahlhelm motif are used for the pockets and front closure, there are two rear grey pebbled belt hook support buttons with accompanying integral side support hooks, the stand collar has black wool collar patches with white piping, each has a silvered oakleaf spray, the left upper arm has a woven swastika armband on grey backing tacked to the sleeve, the right upper arm has a hand sewn woven Hamburg badge, a woven L.V. Gau Hamburg sleeveband is hand sewn to the sleeve above the right cuff, the left breast pocket has the Hamburg Front Soldiers Honor Badge as well as the 1914-18 Hanseatic Military Merit Cross converted for wear with a pin back, there are a few scattered areas of insect grazing and a few tiny holes, the accompanying visored cap is made of field grey colored trikot, has a leather sweatband, is lined in red cotton and has the maker's information on the celluloid sweat diamond, visor and chisntrap are of leather, badges are affixed with prongs, condition is very good but cap shows a bit more wear than the tunic, finally the last type buckle's field grey painted finish has some chipping to the finish and sole light rust to the reverse, interesting set, please inquire to info@virtualgrenadier.com for additional detailed photographs, USD $1800 WITHDRAWN
