VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Tailor made service blouse and documents pertaining to an (eventual) SS-Hauptsturmführer, set consists of a named service blouse made by a Viennese tailor, the document set as presented by Militaria Research Services include a summary letter and thirty one separate documents photocopied from various SS files tracing the career of the subject from pre war rank of SS-Scharführer to the rank of SS-Hauptsturmführer, the summary document states that the subject received the following awards: Ehrenwinkle für Alte Kämpfer, Totentkopfring der SS, Reichsportsabzeichen in Bronze, Ostmedaille and KVKII with swords, the service blouse is very similar in cut and materials to an issue quality M42 tunic without pleated pockets and with split cuffs but is entirely tailor made, there is one internal pocket with the tailor's label and the officer's name applied in purple ink, the blouse is made of later quality field grey wool and is partially lined in grey rayon, there is a bandage pocket, fully lined sleeves and two belt hook support straps at the hips, grey finished steel pebbled buttons are used for the front closure, pockets and shoulder boards, small plastic buttons are used at the cuffs and another small button is found under the right shoulder strap, insignia consists of a bullion wire 'beveled' runic tab and a rank collar tab with three pips, both tabs has this silver cord edging and are machine applied to the collar, the rank pips' prongs penetrate the collar, the white piped slip on shoulder boards have synthetic piping, the shoulder strap bridles are the narrow type as used for officer's the rich tipper sleeve has an old fighter's chevron, hand sewn, the right breast pocket has a cloth German Cross in Gold, hand applied with thick dark thread, the left upper arm has a bullion SS sleeve eagle hand sewn, an EKII ribbon is in the buttonhole and there are loops for three breast badges, and a long ribbon bar, the badge loops are made of dark green cotton thread, condition of the blouse is excellent and no damage or repairs are noted, all interested parties are invited to consult the Wehrmacht-Awards Forum threads that may be read by cutting and pasting the URLs below, please note that the research documents do not support award of either EKII or DKiG although additional information may come to light, one thread also states that the sleeve eagle was reapplied, please inquire to info@virtualgrenadier.com for additional photos (many more detailed shots are available) and information, USD $9000 WITHDRAWN
