Full image - THIS ITEM IS SOLD

Very late issue M44 (or M45) Waffen-SS service blouse with printed sleeve eagle, extremely interesting article and the first of this type we have seen, similar to the standard M44 but of simplified manufacture, constructed of German wool and with four types of basic lining materials, the armpit reinforcing fabric is a grey colored textured cotton, the reverse pocket flap lining is of a grey HBT fabric as is the front closure facing material although these are of slightly contrasting tones, the horizontal inner pocket flap reinforcing strips are of a darker grey rayon having an HBT weave, the neck loop is of grey cotton as normally seen in other SS contract garments and caps, no markings are noted with the exception of a hand inked D01 to the lower inner lining, there is no provision for belt support, cuffs are not adjustable and the normally found under the collar fastening strap is absent, no shoulder strap bridles are installed, collar is made to be worn open, the front closure has five buttonholes, with two pleated patch pockets, pocket flaps have small cap sized painted buttons and the buttonholes are of a shorter corresponding length, the remaining buttons are the standard painted metal type, at one time collar patches had been machine applied and although these were removed attachment threads remain, the printed large sleeve eagle is factory zig zag applied using black top and bobbin threads, garment was definitely worn and is lightly soiled and worn as expected from lighter use, with sign of use especially at the lower under cuffs, perhaps a one-of-a-kind item, any adsitional information about this type or photos of such examples in wear would be greatly appreciated, please inquire to info@virtualgrenadier.com for additional information and photos, USD $5250
