VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Unique set of Heer second pattern mouse grey wrap with large pocket and matching trousers for a Panzer EM, unaltered and all original service used set, both wrap and trousers made of a light grey colored cotton fabric that has faded through service wear to an overall lighter shade, wrap is similar in cut to the second pattern drillich type having internal waist tie tunnel of the same material with tie tapes being joined at the center rear and being made of an olve colored HBT tape, the underarms are vented and reinforced and there are reinforced vertical openings at the waist for the passage of a belt, inner flap buttoning tabs are made of a neutral colored rayon, wrap collar has a steel hook and eye, there are two parallel rows of pressed paper buttons for closure of the front flap, lapel and tab closure buttons are the same, cuff closure buttons are of a black composite material, all buttons ate still in place and originally sewn, wrap front has a large flapped cargo pocket also held with a pressed paper button, the factory installed insignia includes Panzer collar patches with rayon piping having silver washed zinc metal Totetenkopfen, the prongs do not penetrate the collar, the Panzer collar tabs are straight machine stitched in the location particular to these types, the subdued woven pattern national emblem is applied in the 'zip and flip' fashion via machine straight stitching, there is no provision for wear with shoulder straps and no other insignia has been installed, size stampings may be found on the inner lower flap, the accompanying trousers too mirror the cut and construction of their drillich counterparts in having five flapped buttoned pockets, the two hip pockets are asymmetrical, there is a large thigh pocket and two rear pockets, in addition there are two slash pockets at either hip, trousers have an integral webbed belt and enameled buckle, inner leg ends are reinforced with grey green flat cotton and tie tapes are of straw colored HBT, all buttons are of pressed paper and all are still in place, inner waist facing materials are a neutral colored rayon, pocket bags are of ribbed white cotton, faint markings can be observed on the inner waistband, trousers are stained from use with darker stains at the lower legs, perhaps from oil, the set exhibits even service wear but is absolutely without holes, tears, repairs alterations or other damage and is, in fact, the only completely unaltered set of which we are aware, the wrap is featured in the book Panzer Feldjacke: German Armored Crew Uniforms of the Second World War Vol.2 by Scott Pritchett, the trousers are shown in Vol.4, please inquire to info@virtualgrenadier.com for additional information and photos, USD $27,000 or USD $15,000 for wrap, USD $12,000 for trousers SOLD
