VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Privately made trousers in similar cut to those for a Waffen-SS assault gunner, made of textured wool and having two front and two rear flapped pockets, each being secured with two buttons, with belt loops at the external waist and with tightening straps and buckles at the hips, with inner waist lining of black rayon and having pocket bags of white rayon, fly secured with large hook and eye and four wooden buttons, small flapped watch pocket with the same type of button, each of the front pockets is missing one button, the rear pocket flaps have only one of four buttons remaining, the bloused legs have tightening straps at the ankles, trousers are a small size and are in well-used, almost relic condition, they are faded, have repaired tears, darning and still quite a few holes, the example is similar to those depicted in Michael Beaver's Uniforos of the Waffen-SS, vol. 3, page 783, USD $1500 SOLD
