VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Lightweight service blouse for a Heer Pionier Leutnant, having four pleated patch pockets, turn back cuffs and an issue quality dark green badge cloth collar with brass hook and eye, garment is made entirely of olive colored ribbed cotton similar (or the same) as used for Heer tropical clothing, blouse is unlined, painted steel pebbled buttons are used throughout, smaller versions for the shoulder boards, insignia includes woven officer's quality Pionier collar patches which are machine applied, the slip on Leutnant shoulder boards are the slip on type and are attached to bridles fashioned from dark grey colored braided cords, the bullion national emblem on dark green is hand sewn using black thread, there are ribbons for EKII and Ostfront ribbons in the second buttonhole, A Krim shield is attached to the upper left sleeve with olive colored threads to holes drilled in the shield's border, a badge was pinned to the left breast pocket at one time, blouse was service worn and shows a few pick, ages of wear and some minor staining, particularly a few dark ink stains to the lower right pocket, the dark green collar (which may have been repurposed from another garment) has several frayed areas to the edge and a couple of these have had small patches of matching material applied, USD $1350 SOLD
