Late Waffen-SS surcoat for a Pionier Unterscharführer with integral hood, constructed of heavy German field grey wool and with full grey colored blanket lining, double breasted with external slashed chest pockets and tow flapped hip pockets with flaps, there is one internal pocket, the skirt is hemmed and there is an adjustable rear waist belt, the hood is permanently affixed and is of a slightly contrasting fabric, the rear skirt is vented and has grey green colored glass buttons, the field grey colored pebbled buttons are of plastic and all are marked JFS 42, all buttons remain and are originally sewn, the oversized collar has a buttoning tab, the sleeve ends are without cuffs which is appropriate for this model, the blanket lining has faint stampings but there are unreadable, the machine embroidered SS sleeve eagle is factory zig zag sewn, the coat is set up for wear with slip on shoulder straps and a matched pair of slip on straps are inceluded, these have black wool upper panels, synthetic piping and machine applied subdued NCO tresse, the lower panels and tongues are of felt, the tongue reinforcement materials are of cotton, one having black while the other is grey, coat is in excellent condition, shows no sign of being worn and is perhaps, unissued, included are two photos of this type of coat in wear, one a wartime shot and the second a reprint, super example, please inquire for shipping costs for this large and heavy item, USD $975 SOLD
