VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Heer Splittertarn camouflage pattern pullover smock, splinter camo printed on drillich fabric reversible to white, with knotted neck cord of grey colored HBT tape knotted at the ends, having the same type of HBT tape at the waist, skirt bottom is hemmed, sleeves are made to be gathered with tightening straps secured with pebbled metal buttons, having two flaps at the chest to allow access to inner garments, stamped in black ink on the white side with maker information and size 2, there is a wartime applied patch repair to the lower front skirt measuring 7x9cm, the external patch appears to be from Zeltbahn fabric while the inner patch is of an off white colored cotton, although slightly faded smock colors are still quite distinct, white side with soling and minor staining, other than the repair noted there are no holes, other damage or alteration, harder to find example, USD $4950 WITHDRAWN
