Lovely Heer Infanterie officer's visored cap 'Alter Art', having lining of deep tan colored ribbed rayon and with legend Stirndruckfrei (pressure free to the forehead) and maker information faintly embossed, brown leather sweatband has a section of folded newspaper placed behind in order to improve fit, the black lacquered leather visor's outer surface is exhibits fine age cracks, the cap body is of high quality doeskin wool, the cap band is made of dark green wool badge cloth, cap band is edged in thin white wool piping and the crown has white wool piping of a slightly wider diameter, the flat silver woven wreath is zig zag machine sewn to the cap band while the flat silver national emblem is hand applied using off white thread, overall cap shows light service use, age and soiling, cap is without damage and insignia wear is consistent although it is possible that the national emblem is a later replacement, size 56, with an excellent classic 'crusher' shape, USD $2700 SOLD
