VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Restored Waffen-SS M42 service blouse for a Sanitäts Scharführer, standard issue Waffen-SS service blouse with five button front, two holes per position for belt hooks, horizontal bandage pocket buttonhole, etc., in excellent condition but with buttons and insignia (in our opinion) postwar restored, constructed of mid war quality German made field grey wool, lined in and with bandage pocket and belt hook support straps of contrasting grey rayon, all of the pebbled steel buttons have been replaced with backed officer quality types, the sleeve cuffs have been slightly let out and each cuff has a single grey green colored glass button, the bandage pocket button is absent, the inner chest lining panel is stamped in black ink with maker 349 and sizes, to this panel has also been added spurious postwar stamps including SS runes plus eagle and name stamps, insignia includes a machine embroidered on wool SS runic tab plus a wool rank tab with original aluminum rank pip and stripe, the collar patches are machine applied, included are an original matched pair of slip on shoulder straps with synthetic piping and machine applied subdued NCO tresse, the shoulder strap bridles are simplified postwar replacements of field grey wool, the machine embroidered sleeve eagle is zig zag machine sewn, a woven Sani armband is included but it is just slipped onto the sleeve but is not otherwise attached, there are loops for one badge on the breast pocket, ensemble is very clean with the exception of age to the collar patches, some wear to the lower cuffs, minor fraying to the front closure buttonholes and staining to the lining, USD $4450 SOLD
