Interesting Alter Art style visored cap for a Heer medical officer, cap body constructed of a lightweight field grey colored flat cotton, with cap band of dark green felt and having dark blue colored felt piping with a white corded inner core, front peak has an inner stiffener of black cloth covered wire, the felt backed flatwire national emblem is machine straight stitched to the cap's front and the bobbin stitching is visible on the inside, the flatwire wreath is machine straight stitched to the cap band, the cap band is backed with black pasteboard and is covered with a deep tan colored leatherette sweatband, the upper cap panel is covered in a mustard colored section of soft cotton, the celluloid sweat diamond has the silvered makers logo and a paper tag marked size 57, the cap's visor is of lacquered pressed paper with a gloss black finish, the silver metallic chin cord is affixed with two silver pebbled buttons, although the cap was worn it is in very good condition, there are a few insect bites to the lower rear edge below the cap band and a couple of holes to the piping at peak and right side expsosing the inner core, example a testament to the popularity of this cap style even at this late date, USD $1650 SOLD
