Carl Halfar made '40 dated Heer M40 cap for a Nachschubtruppe EM, one of the very earliest manufactured examples intended for wear in tropical climates, well marked with the Halfar-Berlin logo, size 56 and 1940 date, the pale blue soutache was wartime affixed by hand sewing through cap body and lining with black thread, each side with two enameled ventilation grommets, the first type tropical pattern woven national emblem and rosette are factory zig zag machine sewn in the fashion employed by the Halfar firm, the cap body is of faded olive colored ribbed cotton and has a lining of red colored flat cotton, cap saw extensive service use in the desert and its lower rear edge has been heavily darned, a great looker and a real 'was there' example, USD $6700 SOLD
