Beautiful black overcoat for an Obersturmführer in SS-Regiment Germania, high quality privately constructed coat with body made of dense black wool, having large collar with black painted steel hook and eye, double breasted front, flapped slash pockets at the hips, turn back cuffs, rear belt, vented rear buttoning skirt and finished hem, with full lining of black satin and with sleeve linings of the same material, lining with one internal breast pocket and has the finished opening for suspension of a sword, each hip pocket has a subsidiary separate small pocket and the left pocket has a ring sewn into place, presumably for attachment of dagger, all of the finely pebbled silver buttons are marked with the Assmann and RZM logos and the legend Extra Fein, one front closure button is loose and can be found in the pocket, both collar and collar patches are piped in twisted silver wire with the collar tabe piping being of a more narrow diameter, collar patches are straight machine sewn into place, the unit collar patch has the early pattern shaped SS runes and numeral two hand embroidered, the rank tab has three domed aluminum rank pips and a single rank bar, the rank pips' prongs do not penetrate the collar, the sewn in shoulder board a large stamped metal gothic G affixed with two rounded prongs, the Ehrenwinkel fur Ehemalige Polizei und Wehrmachts Angerhorige is hand sewn to the upper right arm, its pip is of hand embroidered silver wire, the SS armband is attached to the left upper arm with snap snaps positioned along both upper and lower edges, the multi piece armband on wool has a woven SS armband attached to the rear, the hand embroidered silver bullion wire gothic RZM pattern Germania sleeveband is straight machine stitched to the left upper cuff, the ends of the cuffband were inserted into a slit into the rear of the cuff and then sewn to the inner portions of the cuff, the rear skirt vent is close with three black plastic, the heavy coat is in excellent condition with little apparent wear or soiling to the body, there are traces of wear to the collar at the neckline, the runic collar patch has a single tiny hole and the rank patch three from insect damage, striking garment in its completely original state, please inquire to info@virtualgrenadier.com for additional detailed photos, USD $14,000 SOLD
