Striking privately made black Panzer wrap for a Waffen-SS Obersturmfuhrer from 10. SS-Panzer-Division Frundsberg, unique offering for which the history and chain of ownership will be shared with the buyer, original custom tailored wrap as worn by a Panzer officer of this famous division, wrap body constructed of black worsted wool in the short bodied SS style, with pointed collar, smaller sized lapel and rear center seam, cuffs are fixed, shell body has three large front closure buttons and three smaller lapel buttons, there is a single inner closure button with corresponding cloth tab, the lapel has three buttonholes, shoulders are padded to improve appearance, lining materials include soft black rayon sleeve linings, the rear inner panel is lined in light grey colored rayon, the armpits have square patches of black rayon and the inner facing panels are of a lighter black rayon to include a large inner chest pocket of the same material, the hanging loop at the inner neck is also made of black rayon, the collar under surfaces are covered in a sheer light grey colored material and is sewn to the inner stiffener with rows of horizontal stitching, both collar edge and collar patches are edged in bright aluminum piping similar to the type fond on sidecaps, the collar piping is 'built in' to the collar edge rather than being added after construction, the machine embroidered runic collar patch and the rank tab have the same matching type of cotton base fabric, the rank tab has three aluminum rank pips and a single metallic rank bar with black stripe, both collar patches are machine sewn to the collar and the rank pip prongs do not penetrate the collar, the Heer style sewn in shoulder straps have rosa colored moleskin type bases, subdued metallic cords and a gilt single rank pip each, smaller pebbled steel buttons secure the boards, the left upper sleeve has a zig zag machine applied machine embroidered sleeve eagle and this is not sewn through the inner sleeve lining, the lower left cuff hsa s standard woven Frundsberg sleeveband and this is straight machine stitched doubled over in the back and again, not sewn through the lining, an EKII ribbon is applied to a lapel buttonhole there are two sets of badge loops to the left breast, garment was worn significantly and the wear and age toning is evident, the lining is abraded and darned in spots, the neck hanging loop is repaired, the rear collar has an area of separation at the neckline, there are small holes to the collar's undersides, insignia is slightly abraded, stained and age yellowed, the right shoulder boards has sections of wear exposing the inner cording, the sleeve ends and lower skirt edge corner are slightly chafed and there is a darned repair to the inner panel inwards of the upper large closure button, please inquire to info@virtualgrenadier.com for additional information, photos and pricing SOLD
