VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Service Heer M43 service blouse for an Artillerie Obergefreiter, textbook standard issue type constructed of mid to later war quality field grey wool and with lining if grey colored rayon, bandage pocket and belt hook support straps are of the same material, with four flat patch pockets, six button front and adjustable cuffs, the only marking still readable are stampings in red of unknown significance, bandage pocket and collar liner buttons are grey colored pressed paper, cuff buttons are of grey colored glass, with buttoning tab under the collar, several of the worn painted field grey painted pebbled buttons were period resewn, insignia includes a matched pair of slip on shoulder straps having synthetic piping and ribbed cotton reinforcing materials, both subdued woven litzen collar patches and the national emblem are factory machine straight stitched, an Obergefreiter rank chevsron with non metallic tresse is originally sewn to the left upper sleeve, there are loops for two breast badges and an Ostfront ribbon is applied to the buttonhole and this too looks to be an original application, garment is worn and soled from wear in the field, lining has rust colored staining, there are a couple of pinhead sized holes at the rear collar line, otherwise blouse is without alteration, repair or other damage, super piece, USD $1725 SOLD
