VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Heer EM black Panzer M43 cap with factory sewn insignia, body constructed of mid war quality black wool, having lining and side loops of ribbed black cotton, visible bias materials are of an off white cotton or gauze, lining is faintly stamped in black ink with size 57, RBNr and what may be a '43 date, the cap's front has two black painted pebbled steel buttons applied with black cotton thread, the subdued woven national emblem and the national colors rosette are zig zag machine sewn with the eagle slightly overlapping the rosette, cap was slightly worn, there is little nap wear and only tracing of soiling to the lining, the inner bill stiffener has a little waffling, superb example and, as with its field grey counterparts, rare to find with this insignia combination, USD $6500 SOLD
