Superb set of late issue Waffen-SS Erbsentarn camouflaged service blouse and trousers in Olona cotton fabric, has been in the same collection since being purchased in 1953, the set is marked to the same maker 179 with 44 date, both pieces are vividly printed on flat Olona cotton with reverse side being a yellow tan shade, blouse with black painted steel hook and eye at the collar, four patch pockets and adjustable cuffs, in addition to maker markings, blouse is stamped with dimensions in black ink at the inner right upper shoulder, with minimal lining components, bandage pocket and belt hook support straps of dark tan cotton, there are two belt hook support holes at each outer waist position, the inner pocket flap reinforcements are of camo drillich fabric, the field grey painted pebbled buttons are all present and originally sewn, each cuff has two tan colored glass buttons, the late variant style machine embroidered on felt SS sleeve eagle is factory zig zag sewn with black thread, the matching trousers have two buttoned hip and one rear pocket, having front pocket bags of thick ribbed tan colored cotton, lined at the waist and with rear pocket bag of tan colored flat cotton, with steel dished metal buttons at the inner waistband and used to secure the upper fly and belt loops, lower fly and pocket buttons are smaller black painted dished metal, all buttons are still present and originally sewn, trousers with full length tie tapes at each ankle, each hip has a tightening strap with three prong buckle, seat is reinforced an additional layer of material, stamped in purple ink at the rear waistband with sizes and 179 maker and 44 date, steel dished buttons show varying degrees of oxidation but all are originally sewn, likely unissued but perhaps worn sparingly, the set exhibits only light age and soloing to fabric, sleeve eagle, etc., without damage and the best set we have seen, USD $8750 SOLD
