VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Matched pair of service used Luftwaffe tropical high boots, well used and personalized with the former owner's name, each boot has size stampings on the inner leather reinforcement, each stacked leather sole is stamped 26 1/2 over II, soles with most nails still in place, heels are of vulcanized rubber with steel taps, the light tan colored canvas uppers are fastened with a long brown leather strap fed through a steel friction buckle that passes through somewhat frayed openings at the upper calf, the inner fabric components are made of a lighter green colored cotton, the lower portions of the boots including toes and inner ankles are brown colored leather, each boot has eight pairs of steel eyelets for the corded laces, eyelets with rust and a few are missing their coverings, pair having great eye appeal, USD $1800 SOLD
