VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Any visitor to this site does so with the understanding that it is strictly for the purposes of historical collecting and research as stated above.

Heer issue tropical cloak, constructed of ribbed olive colored cotton twill and having a large lay down collar with an underneath buttoning tab, having a large steel hook and eye at the neck and with five large front closure buttons, four of them being horn and the fifth black composite, there are two large vertical slits, one on either side of the chest, and slightly offset from one another, for reaching the uniform worn underneath, each slit has a corresponding wind flap and horn button underneath, there are no pockets, skirt vents or provision for insignia, with size stampings and B40 depot mark in black ink, above that is an inked marking that presumably indicates the garment as property of the former owner, with some age and wear and a few minor stains and scuffs, USD $2250 SOLD
