VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Bright privately made Waffenrock for a Heer Artillerie Hauptfeldwebel u. Spiess, top example constructed of a very fine quality trikot wool and lined in green colored rayon, with woven label from an Itzehoe (Schleswig-Holstein) based tailor, the inner waist belt is faced in dark green badge cloth fabric as are, unusually, the inner buttoning panels, the stand and fall collar and cuffs are covered in the same material, the front closure has eight silver pebbled aluminum buttons, there are two on each cuff, two more at the rear waist and four at the tail, the lower edge of the collar, the upper cuff edges and the rear skirt have red colored wool piping, the high quality collar patches are hand embroidered in aluminum bullion wire on red wool bases and these are machine applied to the collar, the parade style metallic NCO tresse is also machine applied to the collar, each of the sewn in shoulder straps have machine applied metallic NCO rank tresse plus two silvered rank pips and the numerals 20, the silver shoulder strap buttons each have the Roman numeral III, there is a small button under the right shoulder strap for affixing the marksmanship lanyard, each cuff has the machine applied parade style metallic NCO tresse plus the extra ring indicting assignment as Spiess, the hand embroidered bullion on dark green national emblem is hand sewn, an EKII ribbon is in the second buttonhole and there are loops for a small ribbon bar and one breast badge, garment is very clean and the only damaged noted is a pinhead sized moth hole at the left rear elbow, a minor stain below that and a couple of picks to the left rear below the belt line, USD $1200 SOLD
