Rare second type reed green drillich wrap as intended for wear by Heer Panzer, Sturmgeschützen or Werfertruppen, a universal types\ seen being worn by armored troops as well as Maultier and other vehicle crews operating 21 cm Nebelwerfer 42 (and perhaps other) rocket launchers, wrap has subdued woven Einheitslitzen collar patches factory applied to the collar without surrounding Waffenfarbe, the only other insignia is the subdued woven national emblem which is factory straight machine stitched in the 'zip and flip' style, the shoulder boards were never set up for wear with shoulder straps, otherwise wrap is in the standard cut with large open collar, vented underarms, two rows of closure buttons for potential wear over other garments and adjustable cuffs, the front of the wrap has a large patch pocket, inner facing panel is stamped in white ink with size and depot Stn.44 markings, the RBNr is positioned below and is made in black ink, a large Roman numeral II is stamped on the right collar's underside, all of the buttons are of pressed paper, the cuff buttons are smaller, all remain and are originally sewn, the rear collar has a a hanging loop of grey colored rayon and the same fabric is also used to make the inner waist tie tunnels, the ties themselves are of green colored tape having an HBT weave, the buttoning tabs are also made of rayon, most likely the garment was never worn and its fabric retains the sheen of issue, the left lower leading cuff edge has a light spot, otherwise the wrap is immaculate and without flaw, this very example is featured in the book Panzer Feldjacke: German Armored Crew Uniforms of the Second World War, Vol.2 by Scott Pritchett, pp 240-241, USD $4750 SOLD
