Single decal M40 helmet believed intended for wear by Legion Speer or NSKK personnel, standard issue Luftwaffe M40 helmet having factory blue grey paint, shell stamped ET64, lot number 5154 is stamped somewhat off center, with steel liner bands, washer pins are intact, all pins are a little loose, brown leather liner has drawstring and is stamped size 57, former owner's name is inked to the liner and has been partially obscured, edges of leather show a bit of chafing, full length brown leather chinstrap is a bit desiccated and has some cracking, the blue grey colored factory finish was over sprayed in semi glossy olive colored paint, both the inner rim and the pins have the same color paint, the inner dome retains its Luftwaffe paint, a national tricolor decal is applied to the helmet's left side over the Luftwaffe eagle decal and the outline of the latter is clearly visible, surface of the helmet has scratches plus areas of chipping and missing paint, overall coverage is about 90%, decal about 80%, please paste the URL below for discussion about this item, USD $1750 NEW PRICE
