VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Heer EM M40 cap with badge for the 3. Panzergrenadier-Division, this example was brought back from Italy by a Florida USA veteran who served with the Military Police, example with black ink manufacturer stamp to red cotton lining, Bayer.Mützen-Fabrik, München M/43, size 58, mid war style with sweatband but made of the earlier and heavier thick olive colored cotton twill, with two ventilation grommets per side, the sweatband is made of olive colored flat cotton joined to a flexible section of tan colored rubberized fabric, the tropical pattern woven national emblem and rosette are factory hand sewn, the cap badge is made of brass and is sewn to the cap's left side with off white cotton thread, showing just traces of use with light soiling, USD $2750
