Complete Heer mounted swallowtail standard for Nachrichten Abteilung 41, complete, uncut, unaltered, Heer mounted swallowtail standard for Nachrichten Abteilung 41, lemon yellow single layer silk body having V-cut tail, with silver fringe along three sides, black Iron Cross having silver borders has a center wreath hand worked in fine silver wires, wreath contains Heer eagle grasping a swastika, all hand crafted in colored threads and silver wire, each corner contains an additional black and silver swastika, the reverse side is a mirror image of the front, included are the aluminum pole top, streamers with plaques, streamer retention ring, battalion ring engraved Nachr. Abt. 41, plus the metallic tape and nails used to secure the flag, the metallic tape, and the battalion ring, the pole top and streamer retention ring have the original mounting screws, this example is still originally mounted to its uncut accompanying horse mounted version of the pole which utilizes special components to assist the rider in controlling the standard while riding, components included are a 'U' shaped rail that forms a slide, a snap-link with a large oval ring to which the 'Armelwulst' (literally 'sleeve bulge' or 'sausage') upper end was secured, the snap link was free to slide up and down the pole, accommodating the rider and horse's movements; a large, fixed, universal jointed buckle with dual claws through which the lower end of the 'sausage' was fastened to the pole, all metal hardware is nickel plated, the ensemble exhibits normal age and wear, there are two separations to the flag silk, one of approximately 4cm by the unit ring and another 3.5cm next to the upper swastika located nearest the pole, the separations are narrow and not particularly noticeable when the flag is suspended vertically, there is a small portion of missing fringe 5cm in width on both sides of the point at upper 'V', again, not particularly noticeable, very rare to find an originally mounted standard with all original accoutrements and an uncut pole, seriously interested parties are invited to inquire to info@virtualgrenadier.com for additional information, detailed photos and pricing
