Ausweis and Soldbuch for ethnic German who served at Auschwitz KZL, Elemir B., a Volksdeutsche from Slowakia, served in the camp for the from March 1943 until dissolution and evacuation of the camp in January 1945, he was stationed with the 1. kompanie in the Auschwitz main camp or Auschwitz I and was therefore in contact with the camp commanders and other ranking officers, the equipment return entry for 8 Feb. 1945 indicates the subject 'survived', Auschwitz and this is confirmed by the (English language) summary paper, subject likely being taken prisoner by either the English or Americans, subject's eventual fate is unknown, Soldbuch is well filled out and has photo of uniform with skull collar patch, with signatures of Auschwitz NCOs and officers such as SS-Hauptsturmführer Walter Polenz, Ausweis has photo of soldier wearing SS runic collar patch, Ausweis appears to have been folded at one time, summary paper in English language has also been folded, said to be one of five known Soldbuchs for Auschwitz Wachtruppen who served in the camp throughout the war and the only set known with the Ausweis signed by the commandant of the Auschwitz and Majdanek camps Arthur Liebehenschel (executed in 1948 by the Polish government), all pieces in fine condition, please inquire to info@virtualgrenadier.com for pricing information SOLD
