VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Luftwaffe contract black Panzer wrap for Hermann Göring Divi. Oberleutnant, rare garment made to Luftwaffe contract, stamped in black ink with maker code 344 and sizes, lining and inner cuff materials are of a distinctly bluish colored rayon, belt support straps and the covering tunnel for the inner waist tightening tapes are of a dark blue black fabric, tie tapes themselves are of two different colored strips of HBT fabric, small black composite buttons are used to secure cuffs and lapel, front closure buttons are also black but of greater diameter, the blue painted pebbled metal shoulder strap buttons look to be originally applied, the black wool body exhibits light service wear with most apparent to the neckline and the lower surfaces of the sleeves, wrap was period shortened as was the fashion, particularly with officer ranks, insignia includes a bullion embroidered national emblem which is hand sewn to the right breast, the white Luftwaffe collar patches are straight machine stitched to the collar, each has a silver washed zinc skull and the prongs do not penetrate the collar, the slip on Oberleutnant shoulder boards have subdued metallic tops, shoulder strap bridles look to be unaltered, under light it is clear that a sleeveband had been worn on the right arm and the area formerly covered is significantly fresher, there are original loops for one breast badge and an EKII ribbon is sewn to the first lapel buttonhole position, one of the very few original Luftwaffe contract black wraps observed and in near excellent condition, please inquire to info@virtualgrenadier.com for additional photos and background information, USD $15,000 SOLD
