Luftwaffe M38 DAK tan camouflage Fallschirmjäger helmet, vet bring back, souvenired by a South African soldier from the positions of the Ramcke brigade at El Alamein, shell stamped ET68, single decal with spanner type bolts, each bolt is tight and the corresponding nuts do not appear to have ever been moved, brown leather liner has variant Heisler maker and size stampings, a portion of the liner has rodent damage, chin harness is complete but has sections of flaking, the snap is PRYM marked, the factory finish was oversprayed in a deep yellow tan color, much of which was worn away through service use and, quite likely, from contact with desert surfaces, the Luftwaffe decal was over painted but is easily viewed, the eagle's chest has a scuff, the factory grey green paint is visible in many areas and about 50% of the camouflage paint remains, most of the wear to the finish is at the top showing the darkened base steel, interesting specimen, please inquire to info@virtualgrenadier.com for additional information and detailed photos, USD $7250 SOLD
