Heer M40 cap for a Panzer EM manufactured by the firm of F. Weissbach, Glauchau, first pattern, cap body of olive colored ribbed cotton, with a full lining of red cotton, with two enameled grommets per side, lining stamped with maker information, depot E.41 and size 59 (actually measures closer to a 56), the tropical pattern woven Heer insignia is factory applied in the standard fashion from this manufacturer with the national emblem being zig zag machine sewn and with the rosette being straight machine stitched, the rosa colored soutache is factory machine sewn, the cap's left side has a metal Edelweiss attached with thick black thread and this appears to be period done, the cap was lightly worn and has some minor soiling and a small spot to the lining, externally light age can be seen along with a couple of spots of what may be wax to the top and left front plus some minor abrasion to the soutache, super example with highly sought after Waffenfarbe, USD $9500 SOLD
