Named tailor made tropical overcoat for an officer in Heer 7./Schützen Rgt. 13, purchased directly by a collector from the family (after Retzlaff had passed away in 2005) who had kept the coat in a cedar chest since the war, former owner Götz Eberhardt Retzlaff ordered the coat as his unit was originally scheduled for service in Africa but, at the last minute, was sent to the Ostfron where he was awarded the DKiG as Oberleutnant and Chef of 7 Komp. Schützen Rgt. 13 on 14 March 1942, the coat was held by the tailor until it was collected when Retzlaff was on leave, included are the Viennese tailor's receipts for the coat, also are included are a pair of sewn in shoulder boars for a Panzergrenadier Leutnant that are fitted to the coat in some of the photos (these were not Retzlaff's property), the coat, which is in unused and flawless condition, closely resembles the issue tropical blanket coat being made of olive colored wool and having double breasted front, deep turn back cuffs, rear belt and large collar with hook and eye, it differs from the issue type by being lined in deep green colored ribbed rayon, having provision for wear with dagger/sword, having felt fabric collar reverse and having a hemmed skirt, the painted pebbled buttons are the high quality backed type, woven tailor's label and name tag are machine sewn to lining and inner pocket respectively, set complete with assembled collector documentation, USD $4000 HOLD
