Attractively faded pair of unaltered Heer second pattern lace up tropical boots, uppers constructed of olive colored canvas that has faded to a whitish tan color, having brown colored leather toes, heels, insteps, rear shaft seams and inner reinforcements, with stacked leather heels and steel horseshoes, each stacked leather sole has a wartime patched repair, there are no nails or toecaps, soles have faint markings but these are difficult to read, the interior of each boot is faintly stamped in purple colored ink and the markings may read 47(or 2)600 4 26, the portion where the canvas meets the upper leather toe sections show the typical wartime darning as often found on these types, with the exception of two grommets all steel fittings remain and most still have their black paint and where the base metal has been exposed it has mostly uniformly darkened, the black laces are much fresher than the boots themselves and would appear to be later replacement, textbook service used pair with desirable appearance, USD $3200 SOLD
