Battle damaged Heer single decal M40 camouflaged helmet, factory paint is over painted externally in rough texture field grey paint, carefully painted around the decal, the decal is abraded and about 80% remains, the left side pin still has much of it original paint as well as some of the camo over paint but the other two pins have little finish, the upper dome opposite the decal paint has a significant dent and the helmet's painted finish has flaked off in this area revealing the darkened base steel, other sections of paint are also missing, mostly on the right side, considering the wear and battle damage, estimated paint coverage is about 75%, the shell is stamped Q64 and the internal field grey paint has a smooth texture, liner bands are of steel, leather liner is abraded at the edges and complete, the liner drawstring is present and is threaded through ventilation holes rather than the perforations at 'finger' tips, only the ends of the chinstrap remain, liner pins and washer appear to be unmolested and a couple have a coating of verdigris, good looking shelf profile, USD $650 SOLD
