Pre war service blouse for a Heer General der Infanterie, constructed of field grey colored cotton in the Reichswehr cut having a prominent dark green badge cloth covered stand and fall collar with three sets of brass hooks and eyes, an eight front closure, two pleated chest pockets, slashed hip pockets, turn back cuffs and vented rear skirt with two belt hook support buttons, the hip pocket bags are made of the same material, the gilt finished pebbled metal buttons are marked Extra Fein and all look to be originally applied, the collar patches are hand embroidered in gilt wires on red wool bases and are originally machine sewn to the collar, the silver braided sections of the Imperial Prussian style Generals rank shoulder boards have intertwined black bars, the red wool underlay is sewn to the underside of the boards and is shaped in such a fashion to not be visible from above, to the right breast is applied a hand embroidered in gilt wires General ranks national emblem, it was carefully applied by hand using grey thread and there is no indication of other insignia having been applied in this area, there are loops for a long ribbon bar above the left breast pocket and an seven award bar is included, there are loops for three badges to the left breast, garment exhibits typical service wear, wrinkling soiling and light fading, there are a couple of small holes to the dark green collar at right upper neck line, certain of the buttonholes are a bit frayed, there is some light chafing to lower skirt and sleeve edges and the upper cuff edges, there is a period darned repair to the right rear lower sleeve above the cuff edge, the tunic was let out slightly on the rear outer vertical seams, an absolutely unmolested original having been worn by a high ranking officer, purchased by consignor at auction from estate of a deceased collector, USD $4400 NO LONGER AVAILABLE
