Rare double SS runic decal Waffen-SS M35 helmet, shell stamped Q64, lot number 3173, having '39 dated aluminum liner bands, deep red brown colored leather liner is still supple, is size stamped and the drawstring is present, the original chinstrap is slightly trimmed, pins do not appear to have been disturbed and washers are tightly seated, the smooth textured grey green paint has chips, scratches and abraded areas to the outer surface, there are a few places, such as the top, where the paint is thin and the base steel is visible, there is some chipping to the paint above the visor revealing light steel, all of the pins have traces of their lighter apple green paint, helmet has Quist decal on the right side, a C.A. Pocher decal was placed over the party shield on the helmet's left, the Pocher decal has shipping exposing the party decal, base paint and steel underneath, the Quist decal has a few light scratches, double SS runic decals are considered to have been intended for wear by foreign volunteers and this is borne out by the period photographic evidence, very nice, please inquire to info@virtualgrenadier.com for additional detailed photos, USD $17,500 WITHDRAWN
