VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Heer issue rubberized chemical protection jacket, believed a pattern worn (with pants) by Pionier employing Flammenwerfer, double breasted jacket with large collar and adjustable cuffs, having five pairs of black plastic posts with reinforced circular closures at the front, each point of the large lay down collar has a pair of similar studs with separate protective flap for wearing the collar fastened in the closed and up position, each cuff has an adjusting strap (each marked aqd) with two studs, all construction seams are treated with some type of coating, the inner surfaces are stamped with the digits 9223 in black and 143 L. ZZ in white, inner buttoning panel has prominent stenciling in white, size 2, June '42 date and maker code aqd, coat was worn and is dusty under collar, armpits, etc., rubber is still quite flexible, inner hanging loop is torn and there are a couple of minor areas of flaking to the collar edge and most of the garment edges are unfinished, don't recall having seen another, USD $350 NEW PRICE
