Restored Waffen-SS contract black Panzer wrap for a Rottenführer, having the cut and unique characteristics of production for Waffen-SS Panzer troops, mid war production having wool of a slightly heavier weight than standard late production wraps and having a slightly longer body, the wrap was obtained stripped by the original consignor having only the hand applied thick synthetic basket weave type collar piping, EKII ribbon and buttons (to include the 11 shoulder strap buttons), the wrap was competently collector restored using matching woven SS runic and rank tabs having the same type of rosa colored basket weave piping, the rank tab has two original metallic rank bars, both collar tabs were restored by machine sewing them to the collar, the woven national emblem and Rottenführer rank chevron were also restored via hand sewing, at one time there had been a sleeveband applied to the cuff, the matching slip on shoulder straps are a close match but are high quality European reproductions, the wrap is lined in two different types of black rayon, the black waist tightening straps are of HBT type tape, belt hook support straps are made of black rayon, a set of aluminum belt hooks are installed, the front panel closure tabs are of black wool, the wrap has four large and three smaller doughnut style front closure buttons, smaller buttons are used for securing closure tabs and split cuffs (each cuff is missing the outer closure button), there is a black painted steel hook and eye at the throat, the white issue markings to the lining are faded, this wrap was obviously service worn and perhaps reissued as there is a repair to the front panel that extends from mid chest to the skirt hem, it is possible that the numerals 11 on the shoulder board buttons correspond to SS-Pz.Abt 11 Hermann Von Salza of which there are several photos showing piped collars in wear, having an attractive appearance and sympathetically restored, USD $14,000 SOLD
