Unused Heer Panzergrenadier M40 tropical cap manufactured by Schlesische Mützenfabrik Frankenstein, this example appears to be unworn and just shows soiling and has a few stains from storage, the red cotton lining is stamped in black ink with maker information and logo, size 53 and with 1942 date, the cap body itself is made of deep tan colored cotton twill, there are a pair of enameled brown colored ventilation grommets per side, one grommet lacks its enameled finish, the woven tropical pattern insignia are factory hand sewn, the soutache is factory straight machine stitched, ultra desirable branch and maker, USD $6250 SOLD
