Service used Waffen-SS contract black Panzer wrap for a Sturmann and Offizieranwärter from 12. SS Panzer-Division Hitlerjugend, exhibits all of the features of a standard issue pattern Waffen-SS having the rounded collar and lapels, vertical front seam, short waist, long sleeves and single piece back panel, constructed of black wool and having internal lining components, pocket bags, belt hook support straps and tie tape tunnels of black rayon and black cotton, the waist ties are black tape with HBT weave, inner buttoning tabs are also of black wool, the buttons for the inner tabs and sleeves are the basic flat black SS style button, the right cuff lacks one, there are four large composite front closure buttons and all have had reinforcing attachment threads added, the three lapel buttons are the same type but smaller sized and these are all originally stitched, the left inner chest lining panel is stamped in white ink in SS style fonts with size markings, with matching machine sewn wool collar patches, having a bullion wire runic tab and rank tab with a single metallic rank stripe, there is zero trace of any other collar insignia, includes a matched pair of mid war quality slip on shoulder straps with rayon piping, each strap has a slide of double metallic rank tresse with the loops being assembled by hand stitching with white thread, the shoulder straps are held with factory installed bridles and originally sewn blue painted pebbled steel buttons, an RZM pattern machine embroidered sleeve eagle is machine zig zag sewn to the upper left sleeve and below that the rank chevron with subdued tresse is hand sewn with black thread, the 'semi-Bevo' style Hitlerjugend sleeveband is also hand sewn, there are loops for one breast badge, wrap with light nap wear and a bit more wear and sheen to the undersides of each sleeve including the sleeveband, there are a couple of tiny darned repairs to the runic tab, plus a couple of other period repairs to the lower left cuff, some picks to the lower front lining panel, finally, there is an area of inset damage to the upper right sleeve measuring about 1.5cm in length, super attractive and very desirable, USD $17,000 SOLD
