SFZ47 Professionally restored Waffen-SS contract M36 style service blouse for an Oberscharführer in 4. SS-Polizei-Panzergrenadier-Division, Panzeraufklärungs Batt. 4, constructed of early mid war quality field grey wool, having a five button front, with four pleated patch pockets and adjustable cuffs, this example exhibits the unique characteristics peculiar to models manufactured for and used specifically by Waffen-SS units - with the shorter skirt and lower cargo pockets, two step lining angles, horizontal bandage pocket buttonhole, SS size markings, etc., buttons are field grey painted pebbled steel, bandage pocket button is horn, cuff buttons are light grey colored glass, piece was sympathetically restored to an appropriate wartime appearance, the collar was period upgraded with dark green badge cloth, restored insignia includes machine embroidered runic tab and matching rank tab on moleskin, both are machine applied to the collar, the aluminum rank pips' prongs penetrate the collar, the earlier version machine embroidered sleeve eagle is zig zag machine sewn to the upper left sleeve, the Police style old fighter's chevron is straight machine sewn to the upper right sleeve, the RZM style SS-Polizei Division sleeveband is machine straight stitched to lower left sleeve, included are a matched pair of original Waffen-SS golden yellow piped slip on shoulder straps, the shoulder straps and the collar have matching machine sewn metallic NCO tresse, there are loops for two badges on the left breast pocket and ribbons for EKII and Ostfront ribbons in the buttonhole, blouse is lined in grey colored rayon, the manufacturer, size and date stamps have faded, piece exhibits moderate service wear and there are a few small holes on the left sleeve and a couple on the back, the restoration is very well done indeed and the garment presents a pleasing service used appearance, USD $7500 SOLD
