VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Kriegsmarine U-boat "Päckchen" style service jacket, simplified German made version of popular British battledress garment as adopted by U-boat crews, example is made of reed green colored cotton, it has an open collar, separate shoulder yoke, five button front and two breast patch pockets with scalloped pocket flaps, the waistband is a separate piece and there are a pair of elasticized straps with internal metal springs at either outer hip, the separately fitted cuffs are adjustable and are closed with a single button, garment is unlined, no markings are noted, field grey pebbled buttons are used throughout, the left breast pocket button is a replacement, item was service used and there is soiling to collar edge and cuffs, small to medium size, includes COA from former seller, USD $2750
