VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Service used reed green colored drillich shorts, purpose made shorts with military style setup having integral belt and external belt loops, having two slashed hip pockets and a rear buttoned pocket, the small watch pocket was period removed and machine stitched closed, the inner waistband is ribbed cotton, the pocket bags are flat white cotton, the belt is also made of drillich fabric, with a black painted steel two prong buckle, buttons are pressed paper, the two waistband buttons are larger than the others, waistband is stamped in black ink with RBNr and sizes, whether for Heer, Luftwaffe, RAD, etc. is unconfirmed, with a bit of soiling and fading, there is a small hole at the right front hem, USD $500
