VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Any visitor to this site does so with the understanding that it is strictly for the purposes of historical collecting and research as stated above.

Super set of decorated service blouse and piped trousers for a Heer Medical Hauptmann including an originally applied Afrikakorps sleeveband, blouse is tailored of field grey colored trikot wool and has a dark green badge cloth stand and fall collar, four pleated patch pockets and turn back cuffs, with woven tailor label for Petschke Uniformen having leaping horse and rider motif with the further legend Berlins Reithosenschneider, the lower edge of the dark green collar, the blouse's front closure and the upper edge of the turn back cuffs are piped in dark blue colored wool, the lining is of a green colored rayon and there is one internal pocket and has provision for wear with dagger or sword, the high quality silver pebbled metal buttons are marked Extra Fein, all match and look to be originally sewn, the shoulder board buttons are the narrower diameter type, insignia includes silver bullion hand embroidered collar patches and these are machine applied, the dress quality shoulder boards are tightly sewn in, each board has two gilt rank pips and the Rod of Asclepius, the high quality bullion national emblem is hand sewn, to the lower right cuff a woven Afrikakorps was originally and carefully sewn by hand and this has seated into the fabric during the intervening decades, the blouse's left breast has original loops for a ribbon bar and three breast badges, blouse was gently worn and is in mostly excellent condition, there are a few tiny moth holes to the garment's rear and some light staining to the lower front skirt; the accompanying trousers are made of a trikot wool having a more grey shade, the outer leg seams have dark blue colored wool piping, the front is pleated, there are two hip pockets and two buttoned rear pockets plus a small watch pocket, the hemmed leg ends have reinforcing material and buttons for fastening stirrups, the inner waistband is lined in dark grey cotton, the pocket bags are of deep tan colored cotton, the brown plastic buttons are all marked Berlins Reithosenschneider and all are still present and intact, the trousers have a few scattered moth holes, mostly to the rear legs and with somewhat greater damage and staining to the leg ends, a quite attractive set for a doctor having seen service in Africa, USD $2385
