Heer M40 single decal dual color netted camouflage helmet, ET64 shell, lot number 284, reinforced aluminum liner bands are dated 1940, nice leather liner has with the penned initials S.T., the full length leather chinstrap is maker marked and has been in place on the visor for a very long time, liner pins and washers are undisturbed, the issue net has been placed between liner and bands at the forehead positions, the rear of the net with the ring is applied rather more loosely over the helmet's rear, the camouflage finish was over sprayed over the factory field grey paint which has areas of chipped and missing paint, the gold toned Heer eagle decal was also, for the most part, over sprayed, the base camouflage sprayed color is medium olive color, over that was lightly sprayed a chocolate brown color, the camouflaged layer covers about 75% of the factory layer, exposed areas have a uniform brownish patina giving an overall consistent unified impression, USD $3190 NEW PRICE
